Is it possible our tax dollars are being spent to advance the political agenda of Barack Obama?
According to George Will of ABC NEWS:
Recently there was a conference call arranged by the NEA with a representative of the White House, for potential grantees or actual grantees of the federal government getting subsidies.
The theme of it was, how the arts community can advance the President's agenda. I don't know how many laws that breaks but I know there are some.
Actual conversation was recorded from this conference call and played nationally on television last week identifying specifically the improper cooperation of a publicly funded organization being recruited by the Executive Branch of Government in order to promote their political agenda on Healthcare, Education, and improve perceptions of the Economy.
Here are some exerpts, the audio of the conference call, the testimony of an attendee, and the transcript are below for your open consideration. Were laws broken? Do you want your tax dollars going towards government promotion of Obama's agenda?
Aug 10 - NEA: This is just the beginning. This is the first telephone call of a brand new conversation.
We are just now learning how to really bring this community together to speak with the government.
What that looks like legally. We're still trying to figure out the laws of putting government
websites on Facebook.
Aug 10 - NEA: Take photos. Take video. Post it on your blogs. Get the word out. Like I said this is a community that knows how to make a stink. Do it! Do it within your town. Do it nationally. Call on other producers,
marketers, publicists, art... you know artists, people from within the community and get them engaged.
From the attendee who provided the recorded audio: "Once again its an implied steering in a certain direction. Facts are bipartisan. This is NOT what the government was meant to do, this is NOT what the NEA was meant to do."
Do you wonder why an Obama White House representative and a spokesperson for the National Endowment for the Arts are saying:
"NEA: this is a community that knows how to make a stink. Do it! Do it within your town! Do it nationally!"
This is our taxpayer money at work.
