Maybe it's a result of Obama punting the responsibility for the healthcare bill to the perpetually unpopular Congress to create and make into law. Maybe it's our precipitously rising debts, unemployment, and foreclosure statistics.
Maybe it's a lot of pent up anger and frustration that has built up over the last 8 years and landed on a new and deaf or inept administration.
Whatever the reasons and they are as varied as they are serious. The perceptions of Americans are revealing quite a bit about the inability of Obama to get us where we want to be.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 30% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing.
Twenty-nine percent (29%) are confident that Congress knows what it's doing when it comes to the economy.
If you are among those Strongly Approving Obama's leadership you are probably among the same group that are confident Congress knows what it is doing on the economy. That should tell you something.
Because if Americans could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, 57% would throw out all the legislators and start over again. Just 25% would vote to keep the Congress.
The headlines are everywhere and the commentary goes like this:
All presidents fall from their honeymoon highs, but in the history of polling, no newly elected American president has fallen this far this fast.
Anxiety is now pervasive. Trust in government rose when Obama took office. It has fallen back to historic lows. Fifty-nine percent of Americans now think the country is headed in the wrong direction. - David Brooks NYT
What do you think Obama needs to do? I would really like to hear from those who would suggest something different than what Obama is currently doing to crush his favorability and injure the trust of the American people.
More importantly what do you think we The People can do?
